We’re starting again on January 12th with some sport and a lightweight quiz.

The Juniors sat down with few expectations to watch “Sky High”… and were not disappointed. Meanwhile the Seniors, on a higher cultural level altogether, went to the Questors production of Dickens’ “Great Expectations”… and were not disappointed either.

We’ll be building our own water-rocket (possibly rain-powered if it turns out that way).

Well we were awash with sparklers and small children, the former thanks to John & Betsy who bought out the local shop’s entire supply, the latter thanks to all the families who came and brought their fireworks, their many children and their loads of lovely food.

Trip to London to see the Lord Mayor’s Show. Bring your woolly hat in case it gets cold.

While the Juniors sampled the great outdoors, hunting pheasants and building campfires in the Ashdown Forest, the Seniors opted for the great indoors, donning skates and bearing hockey sticks. Christian’s steadiness and Vinny’s speed compensated for Francis’ inexperience and Tim’s inability so the scores evened out in the end.

The Juniors learnt about the principles of aerodynamics (well, how to throw paper planes anyhow) and then found a use for excess hot air by using it to propel a balloon — one we’d prepared earlier — up into the sky and out onto the road. Juniors are off on an adventure weekend in Sussex. Seniors have got roller hockey: bring £5 and skates. We’ll be studying beforehand to bring your books.
